Welcome Address

My MBA: Personal Story
A Forté School MBA alumna will describe her MBA journey. She’ll tell you what led her to the decision to get an MBA, describe her MBA application process, her time at school, and of course how she has been using her MBA in her career. There will be plenty of time for Q&A.

Confidence Climb

Managing Your Personal Brand
We all have a brand. It is our operative reputation today; we must manage it with rigor, strategy, and discipline or it will manage us. Strong brands, for products and people, have key components in common (quality, trust, integrity, differentiated and relevant value, continuous innovation). The same lessons used in developing a strong brand for a product or service can be applied to develop your own value proposition, present you in a way that differentiates you from others and creates a strong and vibrant impression. “Managing Your Personal Brand” introduces participants to a unique, proprietary and market-driven approach to personal brand development.

Lunch with Peer Groups
Time to meet with your peer group! Your peer group will be an important support through this 10 month program and beyond. During lunch you’ll want to learn as much about each other as possible—and make some decisions about the schedule and location of your monthly peer group meetings that will start in March.

Application Jump Start

Admissions Panel
Seasoned MBA Admissions professionals will discuss admissions requirements, researching schools, the application process, and financing your MBA.

Breakout Group 1: Hot Topics
We know the start of the MBA journey is daunting, so this is YOUR time to address the questions that are keeping you up at night. What has you worried? What has you excited? Are you confused about something? Topic experts will host table discussions including: part-time versus full-time, non-traditional applicants, the role of the test in the application, career changers, and an open forum table. You are welcome to move around.

Breakout Group 2: What’s Next: Your 10 Month Road Map
What’s Next? In this session we’ll review how to get set-up and prepared to tackle the next 10 months. A member of the Forté Team will talk about how to schedule your monthly meetings and what to do if something goes wrong.

The End Game

Pathways to Career: Insights from the Experts
GMAC will open the session with the results of their 2014 corporate recruiter survey on hiring trends. We want you to know about the vast amount of opportunities available for MBA students—but also be realistic with your expectations. After the research, GMAC will shift into a moderated discussion with Forté school career service directors on how the career services office will help you, who’s hiring, and what employers are looking for from MBA students.

"The MBALaunch program panelists were not only well-informed, but also very open in their responses, which is really valuable. I also enjoyed meeting the other NYC Launchers - I'm not sure if I've ever been in a room surrounded by so many ambitious and inspirational women."
