of 2011) served two tours of duty in Afghanistan and one in Iraq. “I
was always in a very male-dominated environment,” she says. “I mentored
all my troops, but I saw that it was extra important that women receive
the feedback and reinforcement to proceed with their career.”

Class of 2011) entered her MBA program, her class was 34% women. The
group that entered the following year was only 23% women. Unfortunately,
women are still the minority in MBA programs across the country. But
Katie knew what she wanted to do about it.
REBEKAH AHN Edie Hunt Inspiration Award Winner Stern, Class of 2010 Rebekah Ahn, Stern School of Business MBA Class of 2010, was honored as the recipient of this year’s Edie Hunt Inspiration Award at our recent MBA Women’s Conference in Chicago. The award, named after the Chair Emeritus of Forté’s Board of Directors, recognizes the outstanding achievements of women MBA students at Forté sponsor schools, and is awarded based on the contributions the winners have made to advance women in business.
REBECCA LIBBY Edie Hunt Inspiration Award Winner Chicago Booth, Class of 2009 With the personality of a cheerleader (Meyers-Briggs Extreme Extrovert!), Rebecca Libby is someone who prefers to root for the underdog. So, when she matriculated into the Chicago Booth School of Business and realized that women were in the minority, she wasn’t fazed.
GOURI SHINTRI Edie Hunt Inspiration Award Winner Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon, Class of 2009 Gouri Shintri was a self-proclaimed “math geek.” With a BS in computer engineering from Texas A&M, she relished the cool perfection of an integral equation and believed that business was nothing but fluff.
