Forté Foundation (hereinafter “Forté Foundation,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) has created this privacy policy to explain why we collect your personal information and how we will protect your personal information when you visit our website, official social media sites, or other online properties, including those owned, controlled, or operated by a subsidiary or affiliate (collectively “Sites” or “Services”).

Forté Foundation recognizes that you care about how your information is used, and we want to demonstrate our commitment to your privacy.  This Privacy Policy explains the following:

  • What personally identifiable information is collected through our Sites or Services;
  • Who collects this information;
  • How such information is used;
  • With whom your information may be shared;
  • What choices you have regarding collection, use, and distribution of your information;
  • What kinds of security procedures are in place to protect the loss, misuse, or alteration of information under our control; and
  • How you can correct inaccuracies in your information.

This Privacy Policy applies to information collected by Forté Foundation and any affiliated or subsidiary organizations, including, but not limited to, all websites or apps that post a link to this Privacy Policy.  Please read this Privacy Policy carefully.  By continuing to interact with our Sites and Services, you are agreeing to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

Other Web Sites

Our Sites contain links to other websites.  Please note that when you click on one of these links, you are entering another website for which Forté Foundation has no responsibility.  We encourage you to read the privacy statements on all such sites as their policies may be different than ours.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We ask that you read this Privacy Policy from time to time.  Forté Foundation may modify this Privacy Policy at any time in its sole discretion.  If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy that increase our rights to use personal information we have previously collected about you, we will obtain your consent through an email to your registered email address.

Information We Collect

Forté Foundation collects information about you when you interact with our Sites and Services, including to provide you with access to our programs and events (collectively, “Programs”).

Use of Our Sites and Services.  We collect information about devices associated with you that you use to access the Site and Services, such as a computer, mobile phone, or tablet.  We may collect, store, and use information you provide to us from devices associated with you when you use our Site and Services, including when you log in to the Site or Services, register for an account, complete a web form, add or update your account information, or otherwise correspond with us regarding the Site and Services.  Collected information may include, but is not limited to, your name, physical address, email address, phone number, birthdate, gender, social media information, format preference (HTML vs. Text), interests, and other profile information.

Programs.  When you attend our Programs, including in-person and webinar events, we collect your first name, last name, email, and location.

Tell-A-Friend.  If you elect to use our referral service for informing a friend about our site, we will ask you for the friend’s name and email address.  Forté Foundation will automatically send your friend a one-time email inviting them to visit the site.  Forté Foundation stores this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email.

Donations.  When you donate to us, we may require you to provide your name, contact information, billing address, email address, phone number, and credit card or payment card information.

Information We Collect Automatically

In addition, we may automatically collect information about the devices you use to interact with our Sites.

We collect the internet protocol (IP) addresses of all visitors to our site.  An IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer when you use the internet.  We use IP addresses to help diagnose problems with our server, administer our site, analyze trends, track users’ movement, gather broad demographic information for aggregate use in order for us to improve the site, and deliver customized, personalized content.

Do Not Track

Our Sites and Services do not collect personal information about your online activities over time and across third party websites or online services.  Therefore, “do not track” signals transmitted from web browsers do not apply to our Sites and Services, and we do not alter any of our data collection and use practices upon receipt of such a signal.

How We Use Your Information

The personal information we collect may be used or processed where Forté Foundation has a legitimate interest in or other legal basis for processing such data.  In some situations the collection of personal information may be required for the operation of the Sites and Services or to provide certain services.  The information we collect may be used or processed for the following purposes:

Third Party Advertising Networks

On our Site or as part of our Services, third party ad servers may present or serve advertisements, provide us with data collection, reporting, ad response measurement, and Site analytics, and assist with delivery of relevant marketing messages and advertisements.  These third parties may view, edit, or set their own cookies.  The use of these technologies by these third parties is subject to their own privacy policies and is not covered by this Privacy Policy.  They may also obtain information about other sites you have visited or applications that you have downloaded to your mobile device, and other information about you or your device in order to help analyze and serve anonymous targeted advertising on the Site and elsewhere.

Many third-party advertisers and some web browsers and mobile devices allow you to opt-out of third-party advertising.  Information and resources to opt out of interest-based advertising are available from the Digital Advertising Alliance at http://www.aboutads.info/choices/.  You may also opt out of tracking and receiving tailored advertisements on your mobile device by some mobile advertising companies and other similar entities by downloading the App Choices app at www.aboutads.info/appchoices.

Forté Foundation has implemented an information security program that contains administrative, technical and physical controls that are designed to reasonably safeguard information that can individually identify you.  For example, all information provided to Forté Foundation is transmitted using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption.  SSL is a proven coding system that lets your browser automatically encrypt, or scramble, data before you send it to us. We also protect account information by placing it on a secure portion of our site that is only accessible by certain qualified employees of Forté Foundation.

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary for business, legal, or regulatory purposes.

You can review, modify, and delete certain information related to your use of our digital properties by accessing your Forté Foundation account.  You can unsubscribe to email, text, or other messages in your account settings or by following the instructions contained within the message. You can also ask us to update your information by contacting us at info@fortefoundation.org.
