- What is the time commitment for students and is the program self-paced?
The career ready certificate can take up to 25 – 30 hours to complete. Students are encouraged to create an action plan to ensure successful completion in the allotted amount of time. The program manager provides open office sessions throughout the cohort period to help students develop a strong, personalized action plan. The program is completely self-paced. Students can complete modules at their own time. - Can incoming freshmen enroll in the program prior to starting the fall semester?
We strongly encourage students to wait until they are taking classes on campus, as the content asks them to interact with campus resources. - Does the readiness program review resumes and LinkedIn profiles?
There are many opportunities for students to get insight on how to revamp their resume and LinkedIn profile. Throughout the cohort, we have workshops that speak to various career readiness topics, many of which include resumes, building an online presence, and other career readiness-related topics. Once students complete the program, they are offered a free 30-minute 1:1 career guidance session. Students are always encouraged to visit their career center for more in-depth guidance and information. - Does the program include networking opportunities between students and industry professionals?
Yes, each cohort typically has 3 to 4 workshops with corporate and business school partners where students have the opportunity to network and engage with their peers and industry professionals. Students can also engage with their peers during open office sessions, meet and greets, and the end of cohort celebration. We also strongly encourage participants to register and attend our conferences throughout the academic year. - Can you provide examples of live workshops?
Live workshop topics are centered around career readiness related topics. Some topics that have been explored in previous cohorts include: Building your professional brand, the recruitment process from start to finish, how to prepare for a banking interview, exploring the world of business and the MBA, resumes 101, resume review day, interviewing 101, connecting the undergraduate experience to career exploration, leveraging your major for career success, and more.
