Turning a passion into a money-making venture may be one of the most fulfilling career paths there is. But it’s not for quitters! Moving from idea to action is all-consuming, often requiring punishing hours and years of financial scarcity. Rarely does an entrepreneur’s first idea turn into a multimillion-dollar business. Entrepreneurs are willing to accept large personal and financial risks and full responsibility for the outcome.

Great entrepreneurs can have a string of failures before an idea resonates and becomes a successful venture. Some say entrepreneurship is innate and cannot be taught. But a strong general business skill set honed through courses in finance, economics, operations, product development, and technology can differentiate a great idea that fizzles and dies and one that takes off.
