Event Details

The dual impact of the pandemic and automation have disproportionately impacted women. This has exacerbated income inequality and worsened social inequities worldwide, chief among them: women's labor force participation.

Despite the exodus of women from the labor market during the pandemic, a few promising trends are emerging. Women are pursuing online education, including STEM courses, at a higher rate than pre-pandemic.  While education is not a complete cure, the gender gap in online learning narrowed during the pandemic, even despite the widening employment gap. As the world faces new skills imperatives, we catch glimpses of what an inclusive future could look like in the digital economy. Join Brooke Elliott, Associate Dean at Gies College of Business to learn how businesses and learners can embrace education to achieve greater gender parity in the workforce.
